happy woman in dress looking at camera with a background of summer city in sunlight.BBL Forever Young™ is a state-of-the-art, nonsurgical way to remove blemishes and signs of aging so that your skin looks young once again. It may sound too good to be true, but it’s not! Read on for more information about BBL Forever Young and how it can help you!

How Does BBL Work?

BBL stands for “broad band light,” and the treatment is similar to intense pulse light therapy. No anesthesia is needed; the procedure doesn’t involve any incisions or even needles (patients report, at most, a light stinging sensation). You will be given eye protection to wear, and then a handpiece is placed against the skin. This delivers pulses of light energy, which helps to treat a variety of skin issues:

  • Age spots
  • Freckles
  • Enlarged pores
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Uneven texture
  • Small broken blood vessels
  • Lines
  • Acne

BBL Forever Young can be used on not only the face but also the neck, chest, and hands. And, it not only treats skin blemishes, but it leaves skin looking youthful and refreshed.

The treatment typically takes about 20 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated. There is no downtime needed for recovery after BBL, although you may look and feel like you have a bit of a sunburn. Redness is the most common side effect, and this will disappear within a few hours. Mild swelling, bruising, and blistering are also potential side effects. For a couple of weeks after the treatment, you should avoid the sun, and when you do go outside, make sure to wear sunscreen and wear protective clothing.

Typically, three to five treatments, 2 to 4 weeks apart, are needed, but if your condition is severe you may need more. Research has shown that one or two treatments per year removes signs of aging on the skin and also helps to slow down the aging process.

There are so many benefits to BBL Forever Young – it is noninvasive, not painful, requires no recovery time, and can remove blemishes to give you stunning skin! Contact American Dermatology Associates in Sarasota, Florida, for more information about BBL. Call 941-379-6647 for an appointment today!
