What Is a Non-Surgical Facelift?

Wrinkles, sagging skin, fine lines, and crow’s feet. We all eventually notice these signs of aging in the mirror. But we don’t necessarily want others to notice them, too.
Some of us will seek out plastic surgery, but the idea of a traditional facelift may not sit well with others. The cost, risk, and recovery time don’t seem worth it. However, a non-surgical facelift can refresh your look for less. And you won’t have to go under the knife or spend weeks away from friends and colleagues.
What’s a Non-Surgical Facelift?
A non-surgical facelift, also known as a liquid facelift, involves less-invasive procedures. You might get Botox to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines. You’ll also get fillers to correct any sagging or drooping skin.
Some people also get a chemical peel, laser therapy, micro-needling, and microdermabrasion. These procedures can help improve your skin’s appearance, reducing imperfections like scars and hyperpigmentation.
However, not all of these non-surgical facelift procedures are appropriate for everyone. If you’re taking certain medications, are allergic to the ingredients, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, you’ll need to seek out alternatives. Or, you may need to wait until you’re done giving birth and breastfeeding.
What Are the Advantages?
The advantages of a non-surgical facelift are many, including:

- Quick procedure with less recovery time
- Less risk
- Not as much pain or discomfort
A typical conventional facelift will set you back $8,000. You’ll typically pay far less for a non-surgical facelift. Keep in mind, however, that these treatments aren’t permanent.
Unlike a surgical facelift, you can usually get in and out of a doctor’s office within hours. Often, there is minimal to no recovery time. Some procedures also let you go back to your normal activities on the same day.
Because there’s no surgery involved, you’re not at risk of complications from anesthesia or “going under the knife.” You also won’t experience as much discomfort afterward and can usually take over-the-counter painkillers.
