Get the Details on Lip Enhancement with Dermal Fillers

Lip injection treatment continues to be one of the most popular beauty trends across the country. Inserting dermal filler into the lips can quickly enhance what Mother Nature has given. Sometimes treatment picks up where nature left off. Sometimes, lip injections are sought because the lips have lost some of their volume with age. Whatever the reason you would like your lips to look a little better, you may be sitting on the fence. We understand that one of the biggest deterrents to any treatment is not knowing what to expect. Here, we describe what you can expect before, during, and after lip filler treatment in our Sarasota office.
First Things, First
The first order of business in getting the best results from lip injections is to find a board-certified provider. Not only does board certification matter, but training and expertise do as well. We are happy to share our before and after gallery with patients interested in getting to know our background and proven track record for natural-looking results. During your consultation with us, we focus on understanding what you wish to achieve with injectable treatment. This visit also allows us to observe your facial anatomy and create a harmonious relationship between your lips and other facial features.
If you decide to move forward with lip injections, we will take a “before” photo so you can see the immediate effects of your treatment.
Before administering injections, we will apply a topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort. Dermal filler injections are administered with a very fine needle and cannula. The filler product may also contain a topical numbing agent, so tissue becomes less sensitive right after the first tiny poke. According to your desired outcome, injections are administered in specific parts of the lips. The volume of the treated area increases immediately, which means we can observe and refine results as we go.
When your injections are complete, you will apply ice to your lips to improve comfort and reduce swelling that will occur. We advise patients to expect swelling for a short time after their treatment. At first, this will make the lips appear fuller than you may have expected. Over several days and up to 2 weeks, the final result of treatment is revealed. During the first few days, we suggest taking care to only put light pressure on the lips.
Lip enhancement is a quick and easy way to refresh the face. To schedule your consultation, call our Sarasota office at (941) 379-6647.
