VI Chemical Peel® Sarasota, FL
Everyone wants radiant, younger-looking skin. You can achieve it in about a week with a VI Peel®.
What is a VI Chemical Peel®?
VI Peel® is a medium depth medical grade chemical peel. The VI Peel® contains a synergistic blend of powerful ingredients suitable for all skin types. This peel provides dramatic results with virtually no pain, no skin preparation, and little downtime.
What will the VI Peel® help correct?
The VI Peel® helps to correct and improve a multitude of skin concerns such as:
- Reduce or eliminate age spots/liver spots
- Soften lines and wrinkles
- Acne scars
What can I expect during treatment?
After thoroughly cleansing your skin, it will then be prepared with a Prep wipe that comes with the VI Peel®. Then the chemical solution will be applied topically to your skin. You will leave with the peel still on your skin.
What do I need to do to prepare for a VI Peel®?
You will need to discontinue use of retinoid creams for 2 weeks prior to the peel. People who get cold sores should start on antiviral medications prior to treatment to prevent reactivation of cold sores.
How long does it take?
The procedure takes only 15 minutes, but the peel stays on the skin for a minimum of four hours after application.
Is there any pain associated?
Patients typically experience a warm, tingly sensation that quickly subsides. There is no pain.
How much downtime?
With VI Peel® there is little or no downtime. Peeling lasts 3 to 7 days and is easily managed with the post-peel kit that is included with the peel.
What is the aftercare?
The VI Peel® comes with a take-home kit that you will use for the first 3 days following your peel. For 14 days after the peel, it is best to avoid exfoliating products like glycolic acid and retinol/retinoid. You need to avoid direct and prolonged exposure to the sun. You must not peel the skin off. It is important that you let it peel naturally or you can damage the new skin and cause scars.
When will I see results from the VI Peel®?
Once your skin has completely recovered and is finished peeling, you will notice a visible improvement in your complexion. Your skin’s appearance should continue to improve for the next 4 to 6 weeks, becoming firmer, clearer, smoother, healthier, and more youthful looking.
What are the possible side effects?
The most common side effects are peeling, redness, itching, and tightness. Rare side effects could include allergic reactions, blistering or scarring, and reactivation of herpes simplex infections.
Who cannot have the treatment?
You cannot have a VI Peel® if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; if you are allergic to aspirin, hydroquinone, or phenol; if you have used accutane in the past 3 months; if you have active cold sores, infection, warts, or open wounds; if you are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation; or if you have an active autoimmune disease.
